AH HA kids is a complete holiday movement health programme that brings your children on a fun and fascinating journey to getting to know their body better, to discover how to manage stress using breathing and exercise, to express themselves through movement and much much more.
AH HA KIDS is for parents and children who want to nurture healthy minds and bodies. Good habits are best inculcated at a young age where the brain is looking for structure to base future choices upon.
Due to current restrictions and the aim to reach children all over the world, AH HA Kids is currently fully digital. All interactions are over Zoom only. Each cohort comprises of 1 hour sessions, Monday to Friday over 2 weeks.
Kids learn better when play is involved. Instead of constant nagging, this programme uses fun, stories, movement and music to convince kids to develop a positive and confident body image and make better choices about their bodies in childhood and throughout their lives .
AH HA KIDS is currently running over children's holidays only. March, June, July, August, September, December. Each month will have a specific and specialized focus depending on community polls.
As a mother of a 2 boys, PhysioTammie is constantly teaching her kids how amazing their bodies are, how care for their bodies and the amazing possibilities of their minds. She wants to share this knowledge with other kids and parents to allow as many kids to go on to live long, healthy and pain-free lives. In essence, creating a body smart society.
We're going to take your kids on a fun and fascinating journey on how their body works and practical ways to help themselves with movement and breathing.
In 'A' Skills: AH HA KIDS will learn about the different body systems using richly detailed anatomical illustrations. Lessons will go into appropriate depth about how these systems work, how to take care of them and how they integrate with each other. They will come away with an appreciation about the amazing design of their bodies, how to better care for their bodies and how to listen to and respect the needs of their bodies.
AH HA Kids will learn important B skills. AH HA is not only rooted in discovery, but it is also descriptive of inhalation and exhalation. AH HA Kids will learn breath awareness, and how to use this technique before they go to sleep at night. They will learn balance exercises to stay nimble on their feet, and they will learn the concept of postural balance exercises for good posture. These exercises will focus on the spine, shoulders and hips.
AH HA KIDS will advance breath awareness and learn the important skill of how to calm themselves with their breath when faced with anxiety. This will pave the way to meditation. They will also learn how to manage temporary pain through breathing. Advanced modules will include body scanning and core connection and activation using breathing. The ability to self calm will imbue AH HA KIDS with self confidence.
With D Skills. AH HA KIDS will learn about development and the importance of a varied diet. This does not mean dieting. We refer to diet as in the variety of food a child is exposed to. A varied diet means that AH HA KIDS will learn how the different food groups feed their bodies and to choose to eat widely. AH HA KIDS will also discover why a wide variety of movement is required for a healthy mind and well-balanced body.
Exercise is closely linked to physical and mental well-being. Exercise is integral to heart and brain function as well as digestive and emotional health. AH HA Kids will have the opportunity to express themselves through music and movement. They will also discover different exercises that can get their heart pumping. This will improve oxygen rich supply of blood to the brain to improve thinking and feelings of happiness.
IN F skills, AH HA KIDS will learn to stretch their bodies. Flexibility is important for balance, speed and to strengthen muscles throughout their full range. All these concepts are delivered to kids in a fun, accepting and encouraging environment so that they can absorb these life skills with little resistance.
We believe that no child is a failure, they just haven't found what they are good at. In G skills, AH HA KIDS will internalise the concepts that there are no limits to their growth. And they are able to steer themselves in any direction that they choose. We will explore the concepts of self belief, that they are able to stretch their brains at any age and to embrace the limitless connections their brains are capable of making.
Hand strength and dexterity have deteriorated in the age of the internet. Kids are writing less and typing more. In H skills, AH HA KIDS will discover specific exercises that they can do with PLAY-DOH to strengthen the muscles required for hand writing. Additionally, AH HA KIDS will be encouraged to express their feelings, gratitude and goals in a handwritten diary.

To Nurture Marvelous Minds through Movement in our kids and to Develop a Body Smart Society
I've been helping people prevent and recover from neurological and musculoskeletal injuries for over 20 years. My profession, academic research and experience has taught me how to care for my own body through daily habits and decisions.
As a mother, I want to teach my children the same concepts on how their body works, appreciation for their bodies, and how to care for their bodies, so that they can
potentially avert preventable injuries
maximise the connection between physical well-being and learning potential
not just theoretical lectures, but practical strategies that you can immediately apply
If these goals are aligned with yours, dear parents, I look forward to meeting you and your kids on this very specialised training
through stretching and strengthening
through breath control techniques
through strategic postural exercises
through listening and responding to own needs
through meditation and exercise
through better posture and self mastery
